Peer on peer abuse
Peer on peer abuse is any form of physical, sexual, emotional and financial abuse and coercive control exercised between young people and within young people’s relationships (both intimate and non-intimate). Everyone directly involved in peer on peer abuse is under the age of 18.
27th Jan 2020 sees the launch of a new 12 week Peer on Peer Abuse Campaign, Rewind: Mind the Signs that aims to engage young people in conversations around what is and what isn’t acceptable in how we treat each other.
Developed by the ‘Together Women’ VIBE (Voice, Influence, Be Empowered) project for girls and young women aged 12-19, the campaign will run as a graphic novel in 12 weekly instalments following the life of 14 year old Jasmine as she navigates teen friendships and pressures. There will also be signposts and support offered along the way, encouraging more engagement with youth support services and affirming that no young person has to battle anything alone.
