Home Learning

Purpose: 

The purpose of home learning at Sheffield Park Academy is to consolidate, improve and extend the learning that takes place in the classroom. Home learning supports the development of learning behaviours, develops confidence and supports students to achieve to the best of their ability. 

Supporting students with home learning completion: 

Departments and other teams in school work together to ensure all students have every opportunity to access and complete the home learning.

Students can use the LRC before and after school if they need computer access to complete their tasks.

Home learning students can expect to be set: 

Home learning is set weekly for all students in years 7-13. All tasks will be set on Tuesday and will need to be completed by the following Tuesday at 8am

In VI Form Home learning will be set as and when appropriate and this will differ for each subject area. 

  • Years 7-9 will be set Science (Seneca), English (Bedrock) and Maths (Sparx).
  • Years 10-11 will be set home learning from their option subjects in addition to Science (Seneca), English (Seneca) and Maths (Y11 Hegarty / Y10 Sparx).
  • Years 12-13 will be set 3-5 hours of independent study per subject being studied each week either on Seneca or paper based.
