Punctuality

Please be reminded that the school gates close at 8:40am in order for students to arrive on time to their yard for line up at 8:45am. Any student after the gates close will be classed as late and will receive a same day detention.

Term Time Holidays

Our policy is that we do not authorise term time holidays. Parents should complete a holiday form and hand it in to the school office. This is so we know where your child is for safeguarding and attendance coding purposes.

If you have extenuating circumstances for travel (i.e. not for a holiday), please put these in writing to the Attendance Manager who will bring this to the Principal's attention.

Sheffield Park Academy Attendance

At Sheffield Park Academy we give the achievement of good attendance and punctuality high priority. Students who do not attend school cannot take advantage of educational opportunities and rarely achieve their potential. We expect every student to achieve 100% attendance during an academic year.

Every child has a right to access the education to which they are entitled. Parents and teachers share the responsibility for ensuring that attendance rates at Sheffield Park Academy are maximised and that rates of unjustified and unauthorised absenteeism are kept to a minimum.

Absence through illness/unforeseen circumstances

All parents are expected to inform the Academy each day their child is absent, as early as possible. To contact the attendance team please call: 0114 239 2661 and then choose option 1.

Where we have not received communication, please expect a call and/or home visit so that we can check on the safety and welfare of the child.

Attendance and the Law
