Students from the Yorkshire and Humberside region were invited to apply for a Nuffield Research Placement. Five of our current Y13 cohort were successful in gaining a place from a large field of applications.
Over the summer holidays they completed a research project under the supervision of professors from both Sheffield University and Leeds University. On Tuesday 26th September Mammoud Douad, Megane Mouangassa, Freya Oliver, Tasbiyah Afzal and Lina Kazemi were invited to the National STEM Learning Centre at York University for an awards presentation.
Lina also received a Special Award in recognition of her high-level research using entirely new techniques to her.
This is a fantastic achievement from some of our sixth form students.
