Sheffield Park Academy welcome Y6 students and their families for Open Evening!

Sheffield Park Academy opened its doors to over three hundred Year 6 students and their families for Open Evening recently.
During the event, parents and prospective students got the chance to see what secondary school is like by engaging in a range of activities and demonstrations within various departments across the school.
Principal, Mr Freeman and Assistant Principal, Mrs Peagram, opened the event with a welcome speech. They were joined by two Student Leaders, Maya and Henrietta who spoke confidently about life at the school.
Mr Freeman, Principal at Sheffield Park Academy, said:
“I would like to thank everyone who attended our event. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves and to hear all the kind feedback about our students and staff who all worked extremely hard to deliver an engaging event.
I was proud to be joined by two Year 11 students who showed great leadership in the way they delivered speeches to our guests. Giving students opportunities like this where they can express themselves on a public stage and give back to their school and local community is all part of the academy’s commitment to provide an Education with Character.”
Mrs Peagram, Assistant Principal at Sheffield Park Academy, said:
“It was wonderful to meet so many prospective students and their families and see them fully embracing the activities we had arranged for them.
Seeing the interactions our guests were having with staff and current students, who had all given up their time to represent the academy, was extremely rewarding.
People left the event commenting how excited they were at the prospect of attending Sheffield Park Academy next year.
I would like to thank our local primary schools for their support and of course, our students and staff – we couldn’t have done it without you!”
