Skydive in support of Weston Park Cancer Charity

Sheffield Park and Sheffield Springs Academies’ Executive Principal Craig Dillon and colleagues hit the heights when they went skydiving to raise funds for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.

Sheffield Park and Sheffield Springs Academies’ Executive Principal Craig Dillon and colleagues hit the heights when they went skydiving to raise funds for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.

After several scheduled jumps were cancelled due to poor weather the trio finally completed the skydive last Saturday jumping from an eye watering 15,000 feet.

Commented Mr Dillon:

It’s something I’d never done before - incredibly daunting at first but an amazing experience and all for a very worthwhile cause - one which is very close to the academies’ collective heart. We’d like to thank everyone who has donated and supported us throughout.

The skydive was just the latest in a long line of fundraising activities carried out in support of Weston Park, including bake sales and non-uniform days, which so far have helped to raise £9,627 for the charity.

Added Jade Hearsum, Community Fundraiser for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity: “We are so proud of the team at Sheffield Park and Sheffield Springs Academies, as they have quite literally gone above and beyond to support the charity. Their dedication and perseverance to complete the jump shows how committed they are to making a difference to the lives of local cancer patients. It is an incredible challenge to take on and we are so grateful for their support, especially as another group from the school took on a Coast to Coast cycle just weeks before. You are all amazing! “
