Economics is a social science that focuses on the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services, It analyses how scare resources for production, distribution and consumption are allocated.   

A level economics is structured into 4 units taught over 2 years. 

Assessment:

There are 3 exam papers. 

• Paper 1. Markets and business behaviour. Worth 35% if the qualification 

• Paper 2. The national and global economy. Worth 35% of the qualification 

• Paper 3. Microeconomics and macroeconomics. Worth 30% of the qualification.
