Student Classroom Equipment
As part of routines in school, all students are provided with a planner at the start of the school year. The planner is used in every aspect of school life at Sheffield Park Academy and it is important that this is looked after and brought into school every day. This is so your child can be rewarded with stamps in lessons, allowing them to achieve the criteria for ‘Sweet Treat Fridays’. To support students with this, all planners are checked on the way into school and in the morning line-up. Where a student does not have their planner, they are issued with a temporary planner sheet for the day without a sanction, so they can still gain their stamps. However, please note that if your child then misplaces their temporary planner sheet within the school day, they will be issued with a 20-minute detention. The planner is an extremely important part of our school routines and your support with ensuring this is looked after and brought to school every day is appreciated.
Furthermore, students are provided with a pencil case and full equipment at the start of the year. The pencil case includes:
- 2 x black pens
- 2 x blue pens
- 2 x green pens
- 1 x pencil
- 1 x ruler
- 1 x whiteboard pen
- 1 x rubber
- 1 x whiteboard rubber
Your child requires a bag that will fit an A4 folder in and this must be brought to school every day. All students’ equipment and bags are checked in form time by their form tutor. This ensures that your child is organised and prepared for the day and can maximise learning time in lessons. If students do not have the correct equipment, this is replenished without sanction and free of charge in form time by the form tutor. Students can also replenish their equipment at break and lunch, again without sanction and free of charge. Therefore, if your child goes to a lesson without the correct equipment, their class teacher will issue a detention, as students have plenty of opportunities to ensure they are equipped for the day. We would appreciate your support with ensuring that your child is fully equipped for the day and they look after their equipment.
