Entry Requirements: 

Students will need to have obtained at least 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above including English. 

About:

  • This is a practical course and an enjoyment for performing is required. 

  • You will be completing practical and written tasks in accordance to a given brief, assessment or project. 

  • You complete written tasks based on the practical work you will be creating. 

  • There will be an externally assessed unit, which will be a performance that the students must undertake. 

Summary: 

This qualification will enable you to explore your practical and academic abilities, allowing you to discover a range of skills within the performing arts sector. The units within the course cover all elements of theatre with a specific emphasis on practitioners techniques and styles, you should be prepared to participate in everything. The transferrable skills you will develop will range from independent to group work, where you will be able to develop mastery in acting, movement, and musical theatre as well as increasing your academic knowledge of the performing arts, the industry and live performance. The aim of the qualification is to prepare learners for entry to a range of sector-related degrees and apprenticeships that can lead to employment within the Creative Industries. 

Assessment 

Assessment takes place in the form of majority of practical work, with elements of written coursework. Students will be given brief from which they will work towards practically and provide written evidence to support. Students will gain many opportunities to perform to live audiences.
