Entry Requirements:

Prospective students will need a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9 to 4 including English and Mathematics.

Overview:

This extended course gives an in-depth, practical introduction to information technology, covering software development, networking, cybersecurity, database management, and IT systems. You’ll develop strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills applicable to the digital world.

Software Development: Programming, debugging, software lifecycle, and development projects
Networking: Network design, configuration, protocols, troubleshooting, and security
Cybersecurity: Threats, risk assessment, encryption, and protection strategies
Database Management: SQL, data storage, data modelling, and query design
IT Systems in Business: Systems analysis, digital tools, and real-world applications

Assessment:

Two internal coursework assignments.
Two external examinations.
