Sheffield Park Academy - Newsletter November 2016
Executive Principal’s Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to our first newsletter of this academic year.We returned in September to the wonderful news that the
academy is now ranked top in Sheffield and 9th in the country for the Government’s new educational measure,
Progress 8.
These figures are testament to our exceptionally committed and hard-working staff and students and to the
support given to the academy by parents and the local community. They also demonstrate the significant
progress that our students make when they come here, especially in the core subjects of English and maths.
We are very proud of our confident and ambitious young people. You can read more about our exam results
on the Department for Education’s website -
The academy has been a hive of activity so far this year, with a wide variety of events, trips and visits taking
place, including welcoming Year 6 students from our local primary schools for transition visits, watching our
students excel in enrichment activities and seeing parents and members of our community enjoy the superb
performances given by our performing arts students.
Thank you again for taking the time to read our newsletter and sharing in our success.
