Sheffield Park Academy students played to packed houses with their latest performing arts extravaganza, raising over £2,000 for two local charities in the process.

Held in the academy’s main hall on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th December, the show saw 120 students from across all year groups, as well as 12 former students, take part in a variety of song, dance and acting sequences, including This is Me, Mi Gente, Walking in the Air, We came here for love and Something just like this.

There were also awards presented on the night, including the ‘Dancer of the decade’ award, which was given to the academy’s Year 13 pupil, Bienvenu Ngudie.

With both performances selling out, money raised from the ticket sales will be donated to Weston Park Cancer Charity and PACT House (Sheffield Children’s Hospital.)

Commented Sheffield Park Academy’s Head of School, Claire Bailey:

“Our annual performing arts extravaganza is a wonderful way of bringing the school together and showcasing the fantastic talent we have here at the Academy, both on stage and behind the scenes. It’s also the ideal opportunity to raise money for Weston Park and PACT, who do incredible and invaluable work.”
