Sixth Form - Introduction
The Academy is proud to offer a VI Form which is unique in many ways. Not only was our VI Form the first school based VI Form to open in the South East of Sheffield for many years, we have, in a short period of time, managed to build a solid foundation for both growth and further academic success.
The Academy VI Form aims to be a “bridge” between Year 11 and the worlds of Academia and Work. Our ethos is “the Best in Everyone” and, as a Business and Enterprise Specialist Academy, we expect professionalism and a business-like approach from all students.
The Academy VI Form is housed in a purpose built £30 million facility which was officially opened by HRH The Duke of York in October 2008 and contains some of the most up to date and innovative learning resources and technology of any VI Form.
We are very proud of the successes achieved by VI Form students so far and are very excited by the ambitions shown by those currently studying at the Academy. The Achievement board outside the VI Form common room lists those from previous years who have won places at “red brick” Universities or who have gone on to read subjects such as Law; Medicine; Accountancy and Economics.
None of this success would have been possible without the high standard of pastoral support provided at the Sheffield Park Academy VI Form. The working environment is friendly but purposeful and students are guided to take increasing responsibility for their own learning and in partnership with parents, tutors provide all the support needed to succeed, including a dedicated UCAS programme for those who wish to progress directly into Higher Education and Careers Information and Guidance for those taking a direct route into the world of work.
The Academy VI Form welcomes applicants from other schools across the city as well as providing a progression route for ambitious Y11 students from within."Successful Together"
