Students put BBC Business Editor Robert Peston under the spotlight

Students got the chance to quiz BBC Business Editor Robert Peston about the current economic climate and his career when he visited Sheffield Park Academy this week. Well known for his coverage of the UK banking crisis, Mr Peston gave a talk to students from the Academy's Sixth Form as part of the ‘Speakers for Schools' and ‘Employer's Taskforce' initiatives.

Following the presentation, entitled ‘How to understand the recent financial crisis and the outlook for the British and global economy,' Mr Peston took part in a special question and answer session with students.

Commenting prior to his visit to the academy, Mr Peston said: "I am delighted to be visiting Sheffield Park Academy as one of the very first talks provided by Speakers for Schools, as it prepares for its national launch in the autumn. I am counting on the students to put me on the spot and to ask me very challenging questions."

Following the presentation Head Girl, Nomsa Dumani said ‘It was nice to broaden my horizons and speak with someone influential.'

After leaving the Academy Mr Peston ‘tweeted' about his visit to Sheffield Park Academy on his twitter account which has over 21,000 followers.
