Academy Students have the Fundraising ‘X Factor’

Boy band District 3 visit Sheffield Park Academy!

Students at Sheffield Park Academy proved they had the ‘X Factor when they teamed up with pop band District 3 to present a cheque for almost £2,000 to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Finalists in last year’s popular X Factor television series, District 3 performed a special concert for the academy students today, before presenting a cheque for £1,824.76 on behalf of the academy to the Hospice.

As its chosen charity, the academy has staged a number of fundraising activities for Bluebell Wood, last year recording a dedicated charity single, ‘Stand Together,’ the proceeds of which formed the latest donation. A copy of the CD was also presented to the visiting popstars.

Commented Bluebell Wood’s Gail Parkin:

“Stand Together is a fabulous song that has raised an amazing amount of money for us and we’d like to thank everyone involved for all their hard work and continued support.”
